Click Fraud refers to a click with fraudulent intent. Often ➜ banners are clicked on without the intention to buy, either to increase one’s own revenue or to exhaust the budget of the competition through the resulting additional costs per click to such an extent that their banners are no longer displayed. This can be done manually by dedicated “click farms” or automatically by robots. Small companies and startups with low advertising budgets suffer particularly from this. Fortunately, methods exist to detect the fraud.
